- Business Development Services
All exporting companies and potential exporters should have a specialist BDO who will liaise between the exporter and the Corporation, providing advice, forwarding useful information and providing business development services generally. - Trade Missions
The Export Promotion Division organise trade missions to selected target markets annually. All Barbadian companies with potential to penetrate or increase sales in the target markets are invited to participate. Financial assistance is provided on a reimbursable basis. - Trade Exhibitions
The Export Promotion Division provides financial and other co-ordinating support for Barbadian companies showcasing their products at regional and international exhibitions. Early notice should be provided of the fairs/exhibitions for which participation is being planned. - Market Development Programme
Manufacturers of food products which meet the required standards, market acceptability and competitiveness are encouraged to participate in the Market Development Programmes in the UK, Boston (USA) and Canada. Representatives are contracted by the Export Promotion Division in these markets to promote and distribute Barbadian food products. - Special Technical Assistance Programme (STAP)
This reimbursable grant scheme is administered by the Export Promotion Division. Barbadian manufacturers and service companies may apply for special technical assistance (STA) to undertake market research, sales, promotion and marketing activities in overseas markets. Successful applicants may be reimbursed with up to 80% of the cost of the activity. - Certification of Export Documentation
The BIDC is the certifying authority for CARICOM, CBI, CARIBCAN, GSP, Venezuela/CARICOM and Colombia/CARICOM Certificates of Origin. An immediate certification service is provided to all exporters under these agreements Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
