SKILLS DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP - LEATHER SANDALS & BALLERINA FLATS FABRICATION

The Barbados Investment and Development Corporation (BIDC) will be hosting a ten (10) week Skills Development Workshop entitled “Leather Sandals & Ballerina Flats Fabrication – Gain Skills to Start Your Business”. This workshop is for anyone who is interested in developing or furthering their skills in leather craft production.
The following areas will be covered:
- an understanding of various types of leather and their use
- product design
- pattern making
- cutting and construction of sandals, as well as
- the costing and pricing of finished products.
Participants will be taught how to design and make trendy sandals and ballerina flats. They will develop competencies in the making of patterns allowing for the consistent manufacture of these two (2) style of footwear. Participants will also be taught techniques in how to apply professional finishes.
Workshop presenter is Mr. Gerald Bryan - internationally trained local manufacturer and leather craft instructor.
This workshop will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at Eastlanders Manufacturing Barbados Ltd, Tudor Street, Corner of Reeds Street, Bridgetown. The first workshop will commence on Monday, January 11, 2021.
